Our founders worked together professionally before the company ever existed, building experience across field service, technician training, customer operations, and business systems. That shared background shapes how this company operates today.

Our leadership experience spans hands-on HVAC and plumbing service, licensing and compliance, technician training, customer communication, and long-term company operations. Decisions are made by people who understand the work, not by layers of sales management.

Decades of HVAC industry experience spanning licensed field work, state compliance, technical education, and company-level leadership oversight. Scott’s background includes hands-on diagnostics, system design, code requirements, and the training of technicians to meet professional HVAC standards.

Cynthia Hutson

Nearly two decades of experience supporting HVAC operations through scheduling, customer communication, compliance processes, and service coordination. Cynthia’s role ensures HVAC work is properly documented, communicated, and managed so technical work in the field is supported by consistent operational systems.

Alex Karns

Over two years of experience building and managing the systems that support active HVAC operations, customer communication, and long-term service accountability. Alex’s work ensures HVAC services are delivered consistently, transparently, and in a way that supports technicians, customers, and leadership oversight.

Before founding Honest Fix, the leadership team worked together professionally at Fire & Ice Heating & Air Conditioning, during the period when the company was owned and operated by Scott Merritt. Following the sale of that business, the leadership team went on to establish Honest Fix, carrying forward the experience, standards, and accountability developed during that time.

Honest Fix operates with a three-generation structure. The company is led by experienced founders, including Scott Merritt and Alex Largent, and is intentionally designed to introduce the next generation to the trade under direct leadership supervision. Younger family members are present as learners, not experts, and are never included in experience totals. This ensures skills, standards, and accountability continue long-term while experience is earned properly.
