Your Choice of One Comfort Upgrade

Three upgrades, three different problems. Your Comfort Guide will tell you which one your house would get the most out of, and if the honest answer is that your house does not particularly need any of them, you will hear that too. 

Whole Home Humidifier

Heated air is dry air. In an Upper Ohio Valley winter that shows up as static shocks, cracked woodwork, dry skin, and a house that feels colder than the thermostat says it is.

A humidifier adds moisture across the whole house as your furnace runs, not one room at a time. Air holding the right amount of moisture feels warmer at the same temperature.

Best fit: older homes, homes with hardwood floors or wood furniture you care about, and anyone who spends the winter shocking themselves on doorknobs.

REME Halo

Your filter only works on what passes through it. The REME Halo mounts in the ductwork above your system and treats the air as it moves through the house, rather than only at the filter.

It runs whenever your system runs, and it needs a cell replacement on the manufacturer's schedule. We will tell you when.

Best fit: households with allergy or asthma concerns, pets, or anyone who has told us that air quality is the reason they called.

AprilAire Media Cabinet

A one inch filter from the hardware store is a compromise. It clogs fast, it gets forgotten, and while it is clogged your system is working harder than it should have to.

A media cabinet replaces that filter with a deep pleated one in its own cabinet. More filter surface means it catches more, restricts airflow less, and lasts far longer between changes.

Best fit: almost any house, and especially the household that keeps meaning to change the filter and keeps not doing it. The least glamorous option here and the one that quietly does the most for the equipment.

What Surge Protection Actually Does

A modern heating and cooling system runs on electronics. Boards, sensors and variable speed motors now do the work that mechanical controls used to do, and surge protection is the piece of hardware that guards them from what comes in off the utility line. That is why we recommend it on every installation and will put an exact quote on it whenever you ask. Plenty of homeowners decide not to add it, and that is a normal answer that does not change how we install your system. What the fall program changes is not our recommendation. It is who pays for it.

What It Protects

The control board and the motors it drives, which is where a modern system does its thinking. The cabinet and the coil are not the sensitive part. A variable speed system runs on more electronics than the single stage unit it replaced, which is why this comes up more on new equipment than it used to. 

Saying No Is a Normal Answer

At the Good level surge protection is a priced add on. We quote it, you decide, and it is the same hardware either way. A lot of homeowners pass on it, and we install their system exactly the same way we would have otherwise. It is not a test, and there is no version of this where you get a lesser installation for skipping it. 

Where Your Warranty Sits

Worth knowing either way. Our Lifetime Trust Shield groups surge damage together with storms and flooding, as damage arriving from outside the house. So this is one of the few gaps our own guarantee leaves open, which is the honest reason we keep recommending the hardware. 

Where the levels come in. At Good it is a priced add on, quoted separately, your call. At Better it is included on the qualifying new Rheem heating or cooling equipment we install. At Best we protect both halves of your heating and cooling system, the new unit and the one you are keeping, because a surge arrives on the utility line and reaches both.

Everything that governs this offer, in the same size type as the rest of the page. If any of it would change what you decide, we would rather you know it now than find it later.

Why this offer exists, and why it ends. Honest Fix is a Certified Rheem Pro Partner. Part of what that means is that Rheem runs seasonal programs for its certified partners, and the fall program is one of them. Rheem sets the start and end dates, and this one runs on their fall schedule. What we decide is what to do with it, and we put it into the installation. That is where the surge protection and the comfort upgrade at the Best level come from. When the program ends, those inclusions end with it. The equipment, the workmanship and the guarantees do not change either way.

  • Your system has to be installed by November 15, 2026. The date that counts is the day the system goes in, not the day you sign. Rheem's fall program covers installations completed between August 1 and November 15, 2026, and ours matches it. If your installation is going to land after that, we will tell you before you sign rather than after.
  • It applies to qualifying new Rheem heating and cooling systems installed by Honest Fix. Your Comfort Guide will confirm your equipment qualifies as part of your free exact quote.
  • Financing is through Synchrony and subject to credit approval. 0% for 25 months, paid in 25 equal monthly payments. Equal monthly payments are required. No interest is charged on the promotional purchase, and no interest is charged retroactively at the end of the term, for accounts paid according to the terms.
  • This is not a deferred interest offer, and that is the part worth understanding. Our year round 18 month and 12 month options are no interest only if the balance is paid in full inside the promotional period. If it is not, interest is charged from the original purchase date at the account's standard purchase APR. The fall offer does not work that way. There is no deadline sitting at the end of it that turns into back interest.
  • You do not have to finance to get what is included at your level. The surge protection and the comfort upgrade come with the installation at the levels stated on this page, whether you finance through Synchrony or pay for the installation outright. Best includes surge protection on both halves of your heating and cooling system. A complete system with at least one Best level Rheem unit adds your choice of one comfort upgrade.
  • The comfort upgrade requires a complete system with at least one qualifying Best level Rheem unit. Both halves have to be replaced, and at least one of the two has to be Best level. The other one does not. On a single unit Best level installation you get surge protection on both halves instead. Any upgrade can still be quoted as a priced add on at any level.
  • Ductless systems are not covered by the surge protection and comfort upgrade inclusions. Financing may still apply to a qualifying ductless installation. Your Comfort Guide will tell you exactly what applies to your home.
